- How is the change list produced?
- Directly from the Word file's tracked changes. Each contiguous edited region becomes one item, with the deleted and inserted text shown exactly as written. The extraction is performed in code. Verify the displayed wording and relevant context against the source document.
- What if the other side sent a clean file?
- With Pro, a file with no revision marks is compared against the previous round in the deal, or against a clean draft you uploaded as the baseline, and the differences become the change set. A generated comparison is noisier than real revision marks, which is why asking for tracked changes is worth doing, but a clean round is not a dead end.
- Does the AI decide what changed?
- No. The diff comes from the document's revision marks. The model interprets what a change means and how material it is; it never decides what changed. That split is the reason the tool can be checked.
- What does materiality mean here?
